Radiohead: New Album In Rainbows
Ten years after OK Computer shocked the world, Radiohead released In Rainbows on October 10 (10/10). Though no one was expecting the album to be released until 2008, Radiohead announced In Rainbows just ten days in advance. In Rainbows, which consists of ten letters, has ten tracks, and would be downloadable from a rumored ten servers.
Radiohead is also allowing listeners to pay whatever price they choose for the album. Radiohead is also allowing fans to download the album to give it a listen.
Technology has definetly changed the music industry. Most people have downloaded a song or two in their day and some artists don’t care, while others will take you to court. Overall, record labels are the one pocketing all the money and there is a great desire for a new business model within the music industry.
Radiohead, one of the world’s largest indie bands, is taking a stand against the common music industry business model, and they are using the technology that almost destroyed the industry.
